How is a height percentile calculated?
The World Health Organization publishes reference tables for every month of age, separately for boys and girls: the Child Growth Standards for ages 0 to 5 (2006) and the Growth Reference for ages 5 to 19 (2007). The calculator places the height you entered on the curve for that age and sex and returns the share of children who are shorter. These are the same tables the clinic and the app use.
