Welcome

Welcome to KidGrowth (the "App"). The App is made for parents and other adults caring for a child, and is not intended for use by children. What you enter is about your child, and we treat it accordingly.

KidGrowth is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, diagnosis, or dosing. It is a log and a timer that you fill in yourself.

1. Information we collect

The App is local-first: family records stay on your device by default.

Child details: name, date of birth, sex (optional), and an emoji and colour for the card. The App has no children's photos at all.

Growth measurements: height, weight, date, and a free-text note.

Sizes: clothing and shoe sizes and their history.

Allergies: free text and the labels you select.

Checkups and vaccinations: whether you marked an item on your country's schedule as done or snoozed. We store no results, lab values, lot numbers, or clinic records.

Illness log: the medication name as you typed it, the amount as you typed it, the countdown interval you chose, body temperature, a note, and which family member recorded it. The amount is stored as text and we never calculate a dose from it.

A family contact phone number, if you enter one.

Device preferences: language, colour theme, units, and notification settings. These stay on the device and are not synced.

Parents' heights, if you enter them for the mid-parental prediction. Stored on the device only.

Purchase data: purchase status via RevenueCat. Payment details are handled by Apple and Google and never reach us.

Website waitlist: your email address and chosen language, if you chose to sign up. Without a further tick we send one email only, about the iPhone launch. Reminders and guides go only to those who explicitly ticked the separate box (empty by default), and the time of the tick is stored. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.

2. Local storage and device security

Data is kept in an SQLite database inside the App's private storage area. The operating system prevents other apps from reading it, and it is protected by your device encryption and screen lock. We do not add a separate encryption layer on top of the local database, so please do set a screen lock on your device.

Uninstalling the App deletes the local data.

3. Cloud sync (optional)

Family backup sync happens only if you create an account, sign in, and have bought premium. Named data never leaves the device otherwise.

When sync is on, the following is stored on our Supabase servers: child details, measurements, sizes, allergies, checkup flags, the family contact phone, and the illness log.

It is readable only by you and by family members you explicitly invite with a code. A member invited with a view-only code can read and can record a dose; they cannot edit or delete other records.

Device preferences and parents' heights are not synced.

4. Notifications

Local reminders are created on the device itself.

If you are part of a synced family, we store a notification token (Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can tell another device in your family that a dose was recorded.

Notification text contains a first name and a generic sentence. Never a medication name, an amount, or a temperature, so a child's health detail cannot appear on a lock screen.

While a countdown is running, Android shows an ongoing notification with the time remaining, and you can add a home-screen widget with the same details. Both show the first name only; never the medicine or the amount.

You can turn notifications off at any time from the Reminders screen or in your device settings.

5. Anonymous statistics

With your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings, we send growth measurements with no identifier attached: age in months, height, weight, sex, and country, rounded to the month. They carry no name, date of birth, user id, or device id, and cannot be linked back to you or your child.

No account is required. These samples are not a family backup; restoring on a new phone still needs a signed-in premium account.

The illness log, allergies, sizes, and checkups are never included in these statistics.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal or health information, and we use no advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs.

Your child's name, sizes, allergies, and illness log are sent only to this project's Supabase servers.

Supabase: cloud storage and authentication.

RevenueCat: purchase entitlements.

Expo / EAS and Firebase Cloud Messaging: app updates and notification delivery. Notification content is a first name only.

Apple and Google: payment processing.

7. Security

Row Level Security: every family-scoped table on the server is protected at the row level, so only your family members can read your data.

All communication between the App and our servers uses TLS.

No staff member accesses family data as a matter of routine. Operational access happens only for support you requested or where the law requires it.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep account data for as long as the account exists.

Delete your account from inside the App: Settings, then Delete account. This removes your account and its server-side data, and clears the local data on the device.

You can also request deletion without installing the App, from the account deletion page on this site or by contacting support. We complete the request within 30 days.

Encrypted backups may hold a copy for up to a further 30 days, after which they age out of the backup cycle.

9. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, and delete your information. PDF export is available inside the App.

You may withdraw consent for anonymous statistics or notifications at any time without losing access to the App.

Privacy enquiries: [email protected]

10. Children

The App is not directed to children and we do not collect information directly from children. Information is entered by the parent or responsible adult, who is the account holder.

11. Changes and contact

Updates to this policy appear on this page with a new date. A material change is also surfaced in the App.
